One folder
You pick a folder. Every document you add is copied there and your original stays where it was. LocoLedger never looks anywhere else.

Read by arithmetic
A bank statement is read by arithmetic. No model is involved in getting the figures out of it. Tested on real statements so far: 12 of 12 read, 96 transactions.

Facts, not files
Your AI connects over MCP — the standard an AI app uses to call a tool on your computer — and asks for extracted details. You choose how much it sees and for how long. Every request that carries figures is logged, refusals included.
What the app promises
Every one of these is a sentence the app itself shows you on a screen. Nothing here is a claim you have to take on trust.
- LocoLedger works inside one folder. Every document you add lives there, and it never goes looking through the rest of your computer.
- When you add a document, LocoLedger copies it into this folder and leaves your original exactly where it is.
- A connected AI never receives your actual documents. It receives only the extracted details from the documents you allow. You choose how much it can see and how long that lasts. LocoLedger keeps a record of everything the AI has tried to access from it, even the rejected requests.
- The files you added never leave this computer, at any setting — only figures read from them.
- These details stay on this computer.
What it does not do: stop other programs on your computer from opening your files. Anything running as you could already read them. What LocoLedger adds is a gate on the one channel it controls, and a record of everything that went through it.
